If you have ever been asked, "do you eat fish?"

Wasatch Veg on top 20 in City Weekly!

As the producing director of  Plan-B Theatre, one of Utah’s front-line theatre companies, Jerry Rapier (a long-time vegetarian) is a man who is in the know. With this status City Weekly asked him to choose his “hot top 20 of Utah”, and here they are in no particular order.

Wasatch Veg would like to thank Jerry for his support, as well as, thanking him for all he does with his stance on equality in creating a friendly, just, and a more accepting Utah. Thanks again Jerry!

Jerry and the staff of Plan-B are producing a new play entitled ‘Di Esperienza’. A theatrical work which celebrates the life of one of the best known Vegans of all time, the one and only Leonardo DaVinci.

After having the opportunity of seeing the high caliber performance of ‘Block 8′, a vivid tale about an unlikely friendship during times of war, I am truly looking forward to experiencing ‘Di Esperienza’ and am sure that it will be no less than an adventure through time! di-esperienza1WORLD PREMIERE
by Matthew Ivan Bennett
April 3-19, 2009
Studio Theatre | Rose Wagner
138 West 300 South, SLC

A dissection of the man, the myth and the self-doubt of Leonardo da Vinci, widely considered the most diversely talented person ever to have lived.

Leonardo da Vinci comes face-to-face with three of his works of art—Judas Iscariot (from The Last Supper); La Gioconda (better known as the Mona Lisa) and Isabella d’Este (whose portrait he sketched but refused to complete the painting) to answer the question scribbled hundreds of times throughout the 20,000 pages of his notebooks:  “Tell me if anything has ever been achieved.”

DI ESPERIENZA is only the third play in the English language to be written about Leonardo da Vinci, coinciding with his 557th birthday (April 15).

Developed in partnership with The Leonardo and the Utah Shakesperean Festival’s New American Playwrights Project.
